12 Mechanics Simultaneous Fall
Experiment:
Purpose:
The purpose of this experiment is to show that two balls of fall at the same rate, regardless of horizontal velocity.
Equipment:
Simultaneous fall apparatus
Two ball bearings
Method:
flick the lever and one ball bearing falls straight down and the other is given a horizontal velocity. Both hit the ground at the same time.
Pitfalls / causes of error
ensure the simultaneous fall apparatus is level and well secured to the retort stand.
